Kelly Smith, LCSW

Kelly Smith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working with children and families in a variety of settings. Kelly began her career teaching 2nd grade in the Bronx, New York. After 2 years of teaching, she returned to Texas for graduate school, earning a Master’s degree in Social Work from Texas State University. Through Kelly’s training and career as a social worker, she has worked with children and families in school-based, community-based and residential settings. She has experience working with individuals facing challenges related to trauma, anxiety, family transitions, familial incarceration, grief/loss, and depression. Kelly takes a strengths-based, client-centered approach to therapy and values developing strong therapeutic relationships. She believes deeply in the ability of every person to move towards healing and wellness when given the necessary support. Kelly pulls from a blend of therapeutic modalities using developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed techniques to meet her clients’ individual needs. She strives to create a non-judgmental, nurturing environment in which clients can experience the safety necessary for healing and personal growth.
