Sharika is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She works with children, young adults, individuals and families using a motivational interviewing and a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach tailored to the unique needs of each client. Sharika has over five years of experience in a variety of settings with diverse clients including both long-term and brief interventions. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorders (adults and adolescents), children and adolescents with behavior and sexual issues, relationship challenges, couples and families in phases of life change, grief and loss, life stressors, next step substances abuse (adolescents and adults), group psychotherapy, self image and self-esteem issues, and anger and stress management. Sharika graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with both her graduate and undergraduate degree in social work and obtained both her LMSW and LCDC (Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor) license. Sharika invested in an approach emphasizing a more integrated dynamic and holistic approach to mental health. Sharika believes that change happens when people are given the guidance they need to draw upon their own strengths and realize their potential to live fulfilling happy lives. Sharika provides an environment of compassion and support to help individuals and families overcome, move forward and thrive.
