Robin is a Licensed Professional Counselor from Portland, Oregon who attended Oregon State University where she obtained an undergraduate degree in Human Development and family sciences with a focus in Human Services. She obtained her master’s degree in counseling from Prairie View A&M University where she developed a love and compassion for working with children, youth, adolescents and young adults. Robin specializes in working with at risk populations, underprivileged groups and those with cultural disadvantages.  She has over 8 years of experience with individual, family and group counseling in both the therapeutic setting as well as facility based and school-based therapy and intervention.  Robin specializes in depression, anxiety, intense trauma, attention deficit disorder, behavior modification, mood disorders and domestic violence and abuse. She is trained in both Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and has extensive crisis assessment, triage and therapy experience. Robin is an advocate for providing accessible mental health services to underserved communities and empowering individuals and families through creating a safe, calm, welcoming and genuine place where individuals are welcomed regardless of their background or where they come from. Robin uses a person-centered approach which consist of meeting her clients exactly where they are and building from there. She believes in building rapport and gaining trust from her clients in efforts to establish and maintain an effective therapeutic relationship. In Robin’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her four boys, family/friends, volunteering in the community with her organization (Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority incorporated) and reading good books!
