Maria Jackson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She earned her Master’s Degree in Family Therapy from The University of Houston Clear Lake and has been practicing therapy for five years. Maria has experience working with clients in various settings including behavioral health hospitals, outpatient non-profit agencies, and schools. She specializes in working with children, teens, and adults on different issues such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem, adjustment to life transitions, interpersonal relationships, and trauma. Maria works from a collaborative, client centered, strengths-based approach in therapy to provide a comfortable, safe, and caring atmosphere for her clients. Her therapeutic approach incorporates different modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness based techniques. Maria is very passionate about providing accessible mental health services to the community and believes that everyone is capable and worthy of re-writing their life stories. In her free time, Maria enjoys traveling, exercising, trying new restaurants around Austin, and spending time with her husband and beagle mix, Sophie.
