Laura Rushing is a licensed social worker (LMSW) from Austin, Texas. She began her career in schools six years ago as an elementary teacher before pursuing her masters in social work at Texas State University. She is passionate about serving children, families, and staff and uses a trauma informed approach to help her clients rise to their fullest potential. Laura is trained in sand tray therapy and enjoys using this as a tool for clients to explore and process. Additionally, she has worked with grief and loss for all ages, facilitated psycho-educational groups for Spanish speaking parents, and supported children and adolescents with individual and group therapy. She strongly advocates for self-compassion and meets clients where they are at with a strengths-based approach. In her free time, she enjoys running, baking, and spending time with her family.
