Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT) with a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling. Laura has enjoyed working with children, families and adults in education and mental health for over 15 years and has been a counselor for 12 years. Laura specializes in working with all ages including infant and toddler mental health, children, adolescents and adults. She uses a strengths-based and collaborative approach, combining expressive therapies, solution-focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) techniques. Areas of expertise include trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, child-parent relationship issues and adjustment to life transitions. She also has specialized training in Play Therapy and EMDR techniques, and a special interest in incorporating art, sand tray and other expressive therapies into her work as she seeks to tailor the unique needs of the individual or group she is working with. She provides a safe, caring and encouraging environment where clients can find healing and seek solutions that will bring about lasting change. Laura also loves being a mom, spending time in nature, music and enjoys being with family and friends.
