Kristen is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in trauma and related behaviors.
She is passionate and loves learning about neuroscience and how trauma effects the brain, body, and behavior. Kristen has many years of experience working with individuals and groups struggling with the negative effects of trauma in a multitude of settings, including 10+ years working with student behavior in the school environment. For the last few years, Kristen worked as a Counselor for a Child Advocacy Center in Bryan/College Station, before moving back to the Austin area. Her counseling approach is holistic in nature, and she enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults.
Kristen received her master’s degree in Counseling from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, and is also a certified teacher in the state of Texas. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for individuals and groups, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and is currently completing her HeartMath Interventions Certification for Health Professionals. Kristen is a creative individual who enjoys incorporating art, music, and imagination into her work. She strives to create a safe space for clients to grow, develop, learn and implement skills, create positive change, and build and foster new and existing relationships. Her focus includes complex trauma, dissociation, emotional dysregulation, locus of control issues, history of abuse (sexual, physical, emotional, mental), attachment issues, anxiety, and depression. In her free time, Kristen enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new places and learning new things, listening to music, watching movies, exercising, reading, writing, and playing the piano.
