Ian Woodwick, Psy. D. Clinical Therapist Postdoctoral Fellow supervised by Rachel McCarthy, Psy.D.
Ian is a Postdoctoral Fellow who graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He has experience working in community mental health, residential treatment centers, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. Ian works with children, adolescents, and adults, and has particular interest in working with individuals who have experienced trauma. His therapeutic approach is based in a Humanistic/Existential perspective along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) strategies. Additionally, Ian has training in trauma-informed care and various modalities of substance use treatment. He works to create a warm and supportive environment while helping clients work towards their own unique goals. Ian is working towards decolonization of mental health as well as destigmatizing mental illness. He has two cats who have a poor understanding of boundaries and he enjoys hiking, baking, and playing board games with his family.
