Gilbert is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who has provided mental health therapy to youth and adults for over 34 years. He obtained his degrees in Psychology and Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and has experience providing group, individual, couples and family therapy using several therapeutic approaches such as, EMDR, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Experiential, Mindfulness and Play therapy.
Gilbert has enjoyed giving back to his community as a Licensed Clinical Supervisor, Instructor in the School of Social Work at Texas A&M International University, Board Member of Austin Habitat for Humanity and as a Member of the Campus Advisory Council at Barton Springs Elementary.
He is an experienced trauma therapist and has worked with assault survivors of violent crimes, war veterans, first responders and survivors of childhood maltreatment.
According to Mr. Ramos, “the journey of healing does not end once a person finds resolution of her issue. An essential part of healing is the journey back and she returns to life sharing what was learned with others”.
Vida Clinic specializes in school-based mental health and provides a range of services that include individual, family, and group counseling; teacher training and consultation groups; school-wide workshops and trauma-informed culture building.
