Erika J. Vivyan, PhD
Bilingual Licensed Psychologist

Erika is a Spanish-English bilingual Licensed Psychologist with experience working in schools, community mental health clinics, and hospitals. She completed her undergraduate coursework in Liberal Arts, Psychology, and Educational Studies at Michigan State University before earning her Master’s and PhD in Educational Psychology at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Her dissertation was focused on classroom climate for women and students of color in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) classes. Erika has a strong belief in increasing access to quality mental health care in schools and communities, despite the difficulties posed by the current system. Erika works with children and their families in individual and group therapy sessions. She believes that evidence-based interventions are critical to closing the gap in mental health outcomes. Her areas of focus include anxiety, behavior and attention problems, trauma, and general life stress. Erika has received training in various evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Parent Management Training, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. In her free time, Erika enjoys teaching fitness classes and exploring Austin with friends and family.
