Enrique is a developing Bilingual (Spanish/English) Chicano Psychologist in training. As a third-year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Texas at Austin, Enrique is devoted to supporting students and families from underrepresented and underserved communities. Enrique’s therapeutic approach is rooted in culturally sustaining ways of being and integrates Strengths-Based, Trauma-Informed, Client-Centered, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) built around authentic human connection. Enrique’s clinical focus centers on issues of Anxiety, Depression, Coping Skills, Life Transitions, Academic Motivation and Persistence, Cultural Identity Exploration, College and Career Exploration. Outside of clinical practice and academics, Enrique likes to enjoy his free time with his family and playing regional Mexican music with his brothers
