Dr. Rachel McCarthy is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has experience in working extensively with children, adolescents, families, and adults within various trauma-informed community mental health centers. Because she believes in the power of the individual to make powerful, positive, growth-oriented changes in their lives, Dr. McCarthy strives to build a relationship of trust with her clients in which they can feel secure and safe to share, explore, and process their experiences. Utilizing a healing centered approach, cultural sensitivity, and strength-based techniques, Dr. McCarthy works through a holistic lens that involves the client’s experiences as well as the various systems in an individual’s life that have the biggest impact. Dr. McCarthy has been trained and has experience in treating trauma, anxiety, problems with behaviors, depression, grief and loss, adjustment problems, interpersonal problems, and family difficulties.
Dr. McCarthy completed her Master of Arts and Doctor of Psychology degrees in Clinical Psychology at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Southern California.
Vida Clinic specializes in school-based mental health and provides a range of services that include individual, family, and group counseling; teacher training and consultation groups; school-wide workshops and trauma-informed culture building.
