Courtney Johnson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Supervisor (LCSW-S) with ten years of experience in a variety of clinical settings such as acute inpatient, residential, partial inpatient, and outpatient. She completed two post graduate fellowships with a focus on Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT) with a focus on attachment and trauma. She has worked with clients from ages 3 to 70 and has a focus on the importance of a person in their environment at all levels. She recognizes the impact racial trauma, poverty, and being a victim of violence can have on one’s mental health. Courtney uses a humanistic approach with an understanding that everyone is doing the best they can with what they have. While her focus is attachment and trust-based, Courtney incorporates aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to provide clients tools to create a meaningful life as they define it. Courtney is passionate about access to high quality mental health services regardless of socioeconomic status.
