Cherie is a licensed master social worker under the clinical supervision of Andrea Daniels. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Master’s in Social Work degree. She is passionate about collaborating with individuals in therapy to help them overcome challenges in life and learn about mental health including depression, anxiety, substance use, grief, trauma, codependency, shame, guilt, unique challenges that adolescents face, life transitions, stress, and family conflict. Prior to being a social worker, she has worked with individuals in different settings including outpatient settings, residential facilities, clinics, transitional housing, and in school settings. To provide quality services, Cherie uses techniques and modalities such as motivational interviewing, mindfulness, solution focused therapy, trauma informed care, cognitive behavior therapy, and family systems. In addition, she meets individuals in whatever stage they are in life by creating an open and judgement free environment to discover new aspects about themselves, build a safe place to discuss trauma, and empower the individual to start the healing process. When Cherie is not helping others empower themselves, she enjoys painting and other therapeutic artistic activities, spending time with family, traveling, trying new restaurants, and meditating.
