Brianne is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with more than ten years of experience working in schools and other multidisciplinary settings. She recently relocated to Austin from Chicago, IL where studied psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) before continuing at UIC and earning a master’s degree in social work with a concentration in school social work. She has sat on the Board of Illinois Association of School Social Workers as regional rep for the city of Chicago as well as on a committee with the Illinois Department of Public Health’s committee for creating and implementing Socio-Emotional and Developmental Screening for schools across the state. Outside of special education counseling where she was providing education and behavioral supports to school staff, families, and students with qualifying disabilities on Individualized Education Plans and 504 Plans, she has worked with populations that have dealt with severe oppression and trauma on the west and south sides of Chicago, making sure to provide programming and services that are not otherwise readily available in these communities. Brianne specializes in special education, behavioral concerns, trauma, anger management, and stress management/self-care. Focusing on the ecological perspective, she sees the opportunity to collaborate and connect with all systems to create change through individual, family, and group counseling. In her free time, Brianne loves exploring new things in Austin, going on hikes with her dog, and enjoying some of the amazing food and music here!
