Beena Benny, LPC, LMFT
School-Based Clinical Therapist
Beena is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Beena has enjoyed working with children and families in education and mental health for 19 years and has been a counselor for 13 years. She believes that her role is to create a safe and trusting relationship because it is the foundation for therapeutic work. Her passions include self-esteem challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment to life transitions, acculturation and cultural transitions for first generation Americans. She believes that it takes courage and strength to engage in counseling and that everyone feels stuck at some point in their life and needs help from others to get through. She believes that the client holds the solution to their problem and only they can know what works best for them. Her role is to help them find the key to their solution to unlock their problem. She uses a collaborative strengths-based approach to help clients discover what the solution is. Beena enjoys traveling, exploring different cultures, philanthropic causes, spending time with friends and family, drawing and brush lettering.
