Amy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over a decade of experience serving Austin area children, teens and families through school based services and private mental health settings. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin and then went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Social Work at UT-Austin’s School of Social Work. Amy strives to develop trust and build a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients in order to provide a safe space to express feelings and overcome obstacles. Amy approaches therapy from a strengths based perspective, incorporating various techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care and mindfulness. Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, practicing self care at the gym and getting lost in a good book.
Vida Clinic specializes in school-based mental health and provides a range of services that include individual, family, and group counseling; teacher training and consultation groups; school-wide workshops and trauma-informed culture building.
